Character talk: Arkham Knight Batman

Character talk: Arkham Knight Batman
---------------------
-
Arkham Knight Batman is perhaps one of the best new characters introduced in the 2.6 update.
Great stats, good basic combos, very versatile passive, specials with higher than rated damage.
-
Only available via the Arkham pack currently, we don't know if he will be available through any other way, he was not listed as a challenge in the update log.
-
-----------

*Stats:

At e7 level 50, with all support cards, unaugmented he has:
-
94,770 health (3rd highest health after RL Hal Jordan and the yet to be introduced Apo Darkseid 102k, and after Shazam's 98k. Not counting passives)
-
46,980 damage (3rd highest damage after the yet to be introduced JL WW and BH Lobo).
-
His stats are well balanced allowing him to withstand a lot of damage and dish out high damage as well.
----------------------

*Basic Combos

*His basic combos are different from other Batmen, but are still fast enough.
*His swipes can loop, though not as much as other Batmen's swipes. You can still get 2 or 3 combos without interruption.
*No multi combo ender, unlike his other Arkham Knight fellows Harley and Arkham Knight who have triple hit combo enders.
-----------------------

*Passive:

Perhaps the best part about him is his passive which allows him to choose 2 out of a variety of offensive and defensive buffs.
-
We'll talk about each individually, you can see which is which in the image.
-
I will also mention how you can visually identify each at the end, so when you face an AI controlled AK Batman you can recognize what buffs he chose and plan accordingly.
-
----------
1) Crit Immunity:
Crit attacks are not crit against him, for both specials and basics.
-
With crit augments now becoming more common on MP this is very useful.
-
Recall that a crit attack is 1.5 of the final damage of an attack, and now with crit augments it can reach 2.5 times of the final damage, and even higher with crit boost gear like COD.
-
This ability was an exclusive to Red Son Green Lantern and Red Sons teamed with him.
-
Very useful to counter a variety of characters like:
*crit augmented Arkkam Knight with his block breaking gear.
*MH Flash who gets crit basics and unblockable after a special.
*AODS crit sp1 and crit augmented KF's sp2
*Batgirls especially Cassandra with sp1 crit gear and COD.
*Luchador Bane with sp1 crit gear and crit augments.
-
*Currently not effective vs Crit DOT, same applies to RSGL (probably a bug).
-
----------

2) Drain Immunity:
*Gives immuntiy to power drain (like Static and Lobo).
*Applies to all power drains like MMH, Ra's Scimitar, and gear power drains.
*Doesn't apply to Life Drain.
-
----------

3) Sp1 Damage Buff:
-
This buff gives his special 1a 50% damage boost.
-
Like all damage boosts, the 50% is of the min damage not the max damage.
so it's technically a 50% boost to min damage and about 25% to max damage.
-
However, you should also know his sp1 is a bit different and is currently doing much more than rated damage, so we'll go back to this in more details under special 1.
-
----------

4)Crit Damage buff:

Gives his critical damage an additional 25% boost.
-
Example: If his crit damage is unaugmented his critical attack will be doing 1.5 times the achieved damage without the buff (150%), and with this buff it will do 1.75 times the achieved damage. (175%) ...  250% vs 275% if max augmented crit for example.
-
----------

5) Power Added:
*Gives him 2 bars of power.
-
*If given Ra's Dagger or teamed with Batgirl he can start with 3 power bars, which AO Batman can not.
-
*Useful for countering Killer Frost teams.
-
*You can give him the Batmobile and start with a super (with Batgirl or Ra's) and benefit from the Batmobile's area effect for super and invulnerability, worth considering in Survivor where supers do full damage.
-
----------

6) DOT Immunity
*Gives Immunity to special or gear - induced damage over time.
-
*Doesn't protect from LexCorp Set radiation effect.
-
*Doesn't protect from Radiation battle modifier.
-
--------------------

**Visual Indication of each effect of passive**

Can be seen in the image, this is to help identify what the AI controlled AK Batman selected, to plan accordingly.
-
Example don't waste a power drain or DOT special on a drain or DOT immune Batman, be extra careful to with blocking if he is crit boosted or sp1 boosted, expect that crit specials won't do as much if he is crit immune (example if you are relying on a Batgirl crit sp1 or AODS sp1 to damage him.)
-
This is how they look:
-
* Big Blue Hexagonal orbs around chest and mid: Crit immunity.
-
*Big Red Hexagonal orbs around chest and mid: DOT immunity
-
*Small Orange Spherical orbs around his mid: Drain Immunity
-
*Small Blue Spherical orbs around his waist: Sp1 damage buff.
-
*Blue Glowing eyes: Crit damage boost.
-
Extra power is obvious with the 2 extra power bars.
-
-----------------------

Special 1:

Different animation than other Batman sp1s. Being multi hit it has higher chance to stun, critical, and disable specials with the corresponding gear than other Batmen's sp1.
-
Consists of 7 hits.
first 3 hits do constant damage and happen before the target shows up, the next four hits happen after the target and are affected by how much you get on the target.
-
His sp1 is rated at 7,751 min and 13,953 max. (All values are at e7 level 50, unaugmented).
-
However it actually does 15,503 min and 26,777 max. That's DOUBLE the rated damage for min, and almost double for max.
-
With his sp1 damage buff (50%) option it does 23,254 min and 34,531 max.
-
If you are interested in more details:
sp1 min unboosted does:
constant 1409, 1409, 1409
then after target at 100%: 1409, 3289, 3289, 3289 = 15,503 vs rated 7751.
-
sp1 max does:
constant 1409, 1409, 1409
then after target 200% the other hits do double the min: 2819,
6577, 6577, 6577 = 26,777 vs rated 13,953
-
The Sp1 Buff applies +50% of the min to each hit.
-
--------------------

Special 2:

Has 2 different animations.
-
*If Unblocked: he climbs atop the opponent then comes down on them. Consists of 4 hits.
*Like his sp1 the first 3 hits are constant happening before the circle tap, each hit causes 1409. then the fourth hit causes high damage: 46,510 for min and 93,020 for max.
*Total damage of his sp2 is thus
50737 vs rated 48060 for min
97247 vs rated 97671 for max.
Not as much deviation as his sp1.
-
-
*If Blocked: a different animation plays consisting of 2 hits. (hits with cape then kicks)
first hit is constant causes 705 damage, then 2nd hit after the circle tap causes 23255 min and 46510 max.
The first part is half the damage of one of the constant 3 hits (705 = 1409/2)
The 2nd part is half the damage of of the last part of his unblocked sp2.
So the total is slightly less than half the total of the unblocked, since 2 of the first 3 constant hits were lost.
-

Gear Suggestions:

-
*SP1 Set:
With his sp1 damage doing double the rated damage, you can focus on taking advantage of that:
-CRIT sp1 gear: LexCorp Guantlets is especially useful since it boosts crit chance of sp1 and gives health regen after sp1.
-His Batsuit: High chance to disable opponent special on sp1 and boosts his crit damage.
-Cloak of Destiny: after his sp1 stun if he has 2 bars he can launch another sp1 on the stunned opponent which will do really high damage benefiting from the COD stun and crit boost.
-Another CRIT Sp1 or Sp1 Heal gear (if Lex Gauntlets not available)
Best used with the sp1 and crit boost option.
-
-
*SP2 Set:
You can focus on taking advantage of his high sp2 damage:
-Crit sp2 damage: Demonic Cloak
-4th World Mace: power drain chance, sp2 damage boost, area damage
-LexCorp Chest: 99% Life Drain on sp2 (with the high damage of his sp2 he'll heal almost fully)
-Sp2 heal gear
-
-
*SP3 Set:
-Ra's Dagger or teamed with Batgirl
-Batmobile: area damage on sp3, invulnerability after sp3
-Ibistick or other power generation gear.
Best used with the extra power option and in Survivor.
-
-
*Tank Set:
With his defensive buffs and high health he can be a very effective tank:
Blocking\ Reflecting gear: Charged Disc, 4thWorld Helmet, LexCorp Helmet
-
-
*Mixed:
You can also mix and match to take advantage of his tankness, sp1 and sp2
*LexCorp gear set: boosts his crit basics chance and crit damage for specials and basics, boosts his sp1, allows life drain on sp2 and healing on sp1 and gives DOT on specials.
*Forth World set: makes him more tanky and gives his sp2 power drain chance and area damage and allows health regeneration after his sp1, and gives him a resurrection.
*Alternative: Charged Disc, Ibistick + sp1\sp2 crit or heal.
-
----------------------------------------

*Notes:

*Like the other Arkham Knight Characters, Arkham Batman does not synergize with the other Arkham Characters: doesn't boost AO Joker's DOT, doesn't get unblockable sp2 chance form Arkham Harley, and doesn't get extra power bar from Arkham Origins Bane. Hopefully this is just a bug, that will be fixed in the future.
-
*His health and damage stats are really good already, don't augment them any further as it would be overkill and would get you matched with as high stats characters and hackers. Augmenting his crit chance to about 25% or 30% and his crit boost to 200% is enough.
-
*Eventhough as we said above his sp1 is doing double the rated damage, technically a character with that damage stat would do that damage on a normal sp1. His is rated at half because of the Stun chance, but is not doing half, instead it is doing full damage + Stun.
-------------------------------------------

At the end AK Batman is a very versatile character that can be used offensively and defensively and is able to counter a lot of annoying opponents with his different buffs, high damage specials and high stats.

Hope you found this useful.
